Is City Life Messing with Our Brains?

Today, 54% of the world’s population lives in urban areas and rarely experiences nature. This number is expected to increase to 66% by 2050. Is all this city dwelling hazardous to our health?

Well, we know that people who spend a lot of time in nature are generally healthier. We see numerous positive benefits to experiencing nature such as improved short term memory, restored mental energy, stress reduction, improved concentration, sharper thinking and creativity, and improved mental health.

Your brain naturally syncs with nature, which in turn creates all these wonderful benefits. When you don’t or can’t get out in nature on a regular basis, your brain can get out of balance.

This syncing of brain and nature relates to a planetary phenomenon called the Schumann Resonance. In 1952, Dr. Schumann discovered that the space between the earth and the ionosphere created a cavity that resonated like a musical instrument. This natural pulsation resonates at 7.83 hz. And, whether by coincidence or not, it happens to match the Alpha brain wave frequency, which is associated with inner calm and creativity.

Think of the earth as a tuning fork that’s constantly vibrating, and think of yourself as the one receiving the vibrational resonances. Everything in the world has its own natural frequency. Since we now have so much man-made EMF pollution, especially in urban areas, the earth’s natural rhythm gets block and nature’s signal no longer reaches us. Then we get out of sync with the earth, which causes health problems. That’s why it’s important to restore the brain’s natural function by returning to nature.

Unfortunately, for many of us, it’s not possible to interact with nature on a regular basis. We may be city dwellers or our work schedules don’t permit the time to do so. Unfortunately, few of us these days have time for walks in the woods or to sit on a beach listening to the rhythmic sound of the waves rolling in. How do we overcome this and get our brain back into nature’s balance?

BrainTap is one great answer. The BrainTap audio-sessions are specifically designed to replicate the states you achieve in nature. BrainTap utilizes brainwave entrainment which is the synchronization of organisms to an external rhythm, much like the Schumann Resonance. We do this by simulating the rhythms of specific brain wave frequencies known for deep relaxation and heightened states of consciousness.

BrainTap primarily focus on the Alpha and Theta frequencies. Alpha is the frequency most associated with creativity, imagination and flow. Alpha is the intuitive mind. It is also associated with relaxation, tranquility and day dreaming. Theta is the breakthrough state where you can reinvent your life. Theta is the intuitive mind. It borders on sleep with access to the other-than-conscious mind where you have higher levels of creativity, learning and inspiration. It’s also the state where you can realize your goals.

So, if you’re unable to take a weekend trip to the mountains or a vacation to the beach, click here to get a free 7-Day Trial of the BrainTap On-Demand Library.
